The Rt. Hon. Tony Blair MP, Ex Prime Minister of the United Kingdomof Great Britain and Northern Ireland, visited the Great SocialistPeople’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya on 29-30 May 2007.During thevisit he was received by Brother Muammar Qadhafi, the Leader of theRevolution, in the city of Sirte. They held talks on international andregional issues of mutual concern, and on ways of developing bilateralcooperation. He also met the Secretary of the General People’sCommittee. More on

UK Exports to Libya up 61%

According to figures recently released by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC), UK visible exports to Libya in 2008 were £280 million, up 21% on 2007 (£232 million).
UK and Libya Sign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement

On 23 December, Sir Vincent Fean, Her Majesty's Ambassador in Libya and Ahmed Ali Jarrud, Director of the European Affairs Department at the Libyan Foreign Ministry signed an Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement in Tripoli.
